Chosen post: "Talking Piano" http://audiolemon.blogspot.com/
The authors: There are two posters on this blogspot. There names are 2bit and audiolemon and they are from belfast and dublin respectivly. Unfortunatly i could'nt find there real names. They are both djs and obviously have a deep knowledge of what they are posting in the blog so this helps.
The topics posted are all music related and there are also some interactive electronic products on view. The posts generally consist of a youtube video and a small piece of writing. Some posts contain no writing as the videos speak for themselves. In certain posts links are given where the viewer can interact with the product themselves.
The post frequency is generally every 2 to 4 days although this can vary immensly as there are only two authors. As there arent much posts it is possible that you wont miss any unlike other blogs where there are 20 bloggers and new posts hourly
This blog would be very useful to people interested in electonic music, particularly djs hoping to broaden their musical knowledge with the latest instruments. Some of the posts however are easy going with the odd funny video or universally interesting product that non music fanatics could watch or learn.
The commenters are generally other musicians, usually djs and they mainly ask questions about the product eg price, where to purchase etc. The authors are very helpful with the comments and will reply to any questions asked straight away. There dosent appear to be any "cliques" posting so its very approachable and a high level of musical knowledge is not needed to ask questions.
The layout of the blogspot is very simple and easy to find what your looking for. On the top left are links to the authors myspace pages so you can converse direclty with them that way if you prefer. A very helpful and my favourite part of the blogspot was on the right of the screen where there are plently of links to free software and other helpful websites. the main area ie. the middle of the screen, is where the posts are and they are generally quite short. The language may be quite tough for people that dont have a clue what the authors are talking about, but again this comes with the territory.
I had many favourite posts but the one i found most intersting was a post about a speaking piano , posted on october 10th 09. It features a video of a moterised piano that sounds like it is speaking. The piano is hooked up to lots of little motors that push the keys down in sync until it sounds like words. This video depicts the piano saying the Proclamation of the European Environmental Criminal Court at World Venice Forum 2009
