The author of this blog is Dr. James Frankel, he is the Managing Director of SoundTree , but before he became this he was the instrumental and general music teacher at the Franklin Avenue Middle School in Franklin Lakes. He he studied the tuba as well as composition in
Montclair State University where he earned his bachelor degree in music. James Frankel is now an Adjunct Faculty member at Teachers College Columbia University where he teaches courses on music technology. He is the author of many articles such as "Teaching Classroom Music in the Keyboard Lab". He has presented clinics and workshops at the statewide and national level. He also discussed the role of technology in the music classroom on the MENC Television program Tempo. He is a very inspirational person you has achieved alot in his time.
The main topic's in this blog are ranging for music technology to experiences of James Frankel. My favourite post was The day with the PS 22 Chorus. This post is about how James Frankel was given the opportunity to visit and watch a rehersal with music educator Gregg Breinberg and the students in the PS 22 Chorus. After James Frankel asked him if there was any way his company SoundTree could assist him in continuing his work.
I chose this post because i had come across the video os the PS 22 Chorus on YouTube before an I found his post inspirational. It was posted on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at 6:58 am. In my opinion the target audience is a very broad audience an this could attract people interested in music, music technology, students , adults... The comments are all very positive, there were 8 posts and were posted within a few days of eachother. On this post there is also a youtube video of the actual chorus James Frankel was invited to visited. The children in it have amazing talent an it. The post is written in the first person and is very enjoyable to read.
