Chosen blog : Modulate this here
Chosen post : Soniccharge synplant here

The blog I have chosen to follow for my assignment is modulate this. This blog was created by Mark Mosher a part time professional electronic musician, composer and sound designer . Based in Louisville Colorado, he has twenty years experience working with midi, synthesizers, samplers, drum programming and sequencing.

The content of his blog reflects his area of expertise. There are numerous articles on virtual instruments, musical hardware and everything in between. I like the fact that as well as reviews he posts tutorials on how to use music software live abelton live. In one post he goes through a track he made in abelton step by step.
The posts on this blog are fairly infrequent compared to the other blogs I followed, two to three posts a month at most.

The target audience for this blog would be people who are interested in music technology and its applications, for example someone who composes electronic music.

The language used for the most part is clear, concise and easy to understand. When dealing with the technical side
of things he keeps the technical jargon to a bare minimum.

The graphics and images for the most part are contained within the articles themselves. On the right hand side of the page there are links to products reviewed or discussed in the main articles, there are also links to other blogs of interest. Links are also to be found in the main articles these vary from audio samples to information pertaining to the article.

My favourite post on this blog was about a soft synth called the synplant. Differing from other soft synths it offers a novel way of synthesizing sounds. Instead of creating patches the traditional way, turning knobs and dials. Synplant lets you make sounds in an organic way by planting seeds and watching them grow into synth patches. Having never heard of this synth I was intrigued by its uniqueness and exited to get my hands on one, to see what unexpected creative avenues it led me down.
