Favourite Post & why: My favourite post was “Bloggers must disclose payments for reviews”. This blog was about how the Federal Trade Commission in America have decided that all bloggers must clearly disclose all and any payments or gifts they have received from companies to review their products. It was 1980 when these guidelines were last reviewed and the first time that it has included bloggers. The FTC Commissioners approved the guidelines by voting 4 – 0 in favor of the changes. Although the did not fully say how these new guidelines will be inforced, they did say that possible penalties could include fines of up to $11,000 per violation.
I really liked this post because I have sometimes found it hard to believe some reviews on the net because you never knew if the reviewer was getting paid to give the product a good review, or if they had received some gifts or freebies to sway their decision in favour of the company. I think this law could finally bring a defree of honesty to the net.
Other Blogs I Followed: I also decided to follow three other blogs.
“I Do Music” \Here
Which is a digital music medium community blog.
“Gizmodo” Here Which was a very popular blog for up to date electronic’s of all types.
“Red Rants” Here Which was the only blog not to deal directly with digital media. It’s a blog for Manchester United fans which I also had a great interest in and really enjoyed.
